Khammam

This is an ancient town, which was an important seat of administration during the reign of the Kakatiyas of Warangal in the 13th century AD. Places around Khammam district include :

The Fort

This fort is located on Stambhadri hill. The tall, pillar like stones, found on this hill were used as pillars to support the ceiling of the temples here.
Bhadrachalam

A town famous for the temple of Sri Rama, Bhadrachalam, is located amidst dense forest. It is built on the banks of River Godavari.

Kinnersani sanctuary

This sanctuary of mixed forest, has a wide variety of animals and birds, including tiger, leopard and sloth bear.
